The event was hosted by not-for-profit housing association Peabody at its Ealing Gateway offices.

Themed “Mindful Use of AI,” the day-long session was organised by the Ealing Local Strategic Partnership, led by Ealing Council and West London Business. It brought together local organisations including Peabody, A2Dominion, the NHS, Metropolitan Police, University of West London, West London College, Ealing and Hounslow CVS, and the London Fire Brigade.

Speakers and guests explored how AI can be used responsibly to improve public services, boost local skills, and make day-to-day life easier for residents. Examples include faster housing repairs, better healthcare coordination, and smarter community safety tools.

The conference focused on:

  • Understanding how AI is changing local services and jobs
  • Sharing best practice and pilot projects already making a difference
  • The importance of building shared standards for ethical, inclusive, and effective AI use

Elly Hoult, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive of Peabody, said: "We’re always exploring how new technology can make life easier and better for people. Events like this are a great chance to swap ideas, learn from each other, and build on the partnerships that already make Ealing strong. By working together, we can make sure AI is used in ways that truly help everyone."

Andrew Dakers, Chief Executive Officer of West London Business, added: “It was striking the pace at which organisations across Ealing’s Local Strategic Partnership are all adopting AI to increase productivity and free up staff capacity to better support our clients.

“The opportunities are clearly significant to share best practice, and for example ensure we are designing the most effective and robust ‘AI agents’ by learning from each other in the months and years ahead.

“We must also ensure that larger organisations in the partnership, with greatest depth of AI expertise, support smaller organisations in Ealing and their supply chains navigate this rapid transformation of how we work.”

As the day ended, partners agreed to keep collaborating on how they can use technology to make life better and more inclusive for everyone who lives in Ealing.
