Helping everyone flourish

We’re celebrating diversity and creating a culture where colleagues can bring their whole selves to work

We're removing bias from our recruitment process, offering a flexible workplace, understanding colleagues’ lived experiences – and respecting people for who they are, not just for the skills they bring to the table.

  • Man and woman standing in a kitchen

    Working flexibly, productively and comfortably

We know everyone has different needs. So where possible, we work with our colleagues to ensure they get the best possible work-life balance. If you’re in a desk-based role, you’ll most likely balance office and home working. If your role is working with residents, your location will depend on the day-to-day needs of the job.

  • Woman wearing glasses and looking up

    We accommodate disabilities

We’re an equal opportunities employer and operate a disability confident scheme. This means we guarantee applicants who have declared a disability on their application form an interview for the job they have applied for.* We’ll also make any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.

*Subject to them meeting the minimum criteria outlined in the role profile.

  • Group of people with their arms folded

    Using name-blind recruitment

To avoid potential biases and barriers, we remove the candidate's name from their application. This makes it easier for hiring managers to make objective decisions about the candidate’s suitability. We also closely monitor gender and ethnicity pay gaps and have adopted the Rooney Rule. This means that we consider at least one woman and one ethnic minority candidate for every open position.

Networks that work for all

We have five colleague-led diversity networks at Peabody, so our colleagues always feel supported and have someone to talk to:

Ability Network

Our Ability Network represents the voice of our disabled colleagues and is focussed on raising awareness of disability related issues and helping to make Peabody an inclusive place to work for everyone – regardless of their disability or health condition.

Race Equality Network

Network members contribute to key events throughout the year, including our Black History Month celebrations. The network also helps ensure that Peabody is an inclusive place to work for all colleagues irrespective of their ethnic background.

Gender Network

Our Gender Network promotes gender equality and diversity throughout the organisation. It provides tailored employee support, helps identify issues and celebrates diversity.

LGBTQ+ Network

This network is focused on making sure we are an inclusive place to work for everyone – regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. It encourages active, hands-on involvement from all employees and contributes to our LGBT History Month and Pride Month celebrations.

Family

This group aims to create a family-friendly workplace. It supports and champions people with caring responsibilities, so that they can meet their demands at work and home.
